Assess the global environment for services sectors, address foreign market trade and investment barriers, and promote services export opportunities in order to increase exports of U.S. services.

Who we are:

Office of Finance and Insurance Industries
OFAI works to enhance the domestic and international competitiveness of key U.S. financial services industries, OFAI’s Primary areas of focus include insurance, banking, trade finance, securities, venture capital, private equity, impact investing, access to capital, pensions, asset management, exchanges, and non-bank financing. OFAI also produces the Trade Finance Guide and serves as ITA’s policy advisor on Ex-Im Bank, Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), multilateral development banks, and other official finance issues. OFAI is divided into two teams: Financial Services and Trade and Project Finance.

Office of Digital Services and Industries
The Office of Digital Services Industries (ODSI) is divided into two teams: Data Flows and Privacy; and, Digital and Internet Services. The Data Flows and Privacy team works to promote privacy policy frameworks to facilitate the free flow of data across borders to support international trade. The team administers the U.S.-European Union and U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Frameworks, and is leading efforts to implement the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Cross Border Privacy Rules System. The team also works to represent industry interest on a variety of privacy policy issues in a number of for a, including the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. The Digital and Internet Services team focuses on policy and commercial issues related to a wide range of evolving ICT services, including cloud computing, software and applications, advanced communications services, and media and entertainment.

Office of Supply Chain, Professional, and Business Services
The Office of Supply Chain, Professional and Business Services (OSCPB) is divided into two teams: Supply Chain; and Professional and Business Services. The Supply Chain team promotes the competitiveness of the following U.S. services industries: air transport services; distribution services (direct marketing, direct selling, franchising, and retailing); cold chain distribution; express delivery; land transportation; maritime shipping; physical infrastructure services (architecture; construction; engineering services); and manages several advisory committees (Industry Trade and Advisory Committee on Distribution Services, Industry Trade and Advisory Committee on Finance and Service Industries and The Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness). The Professional and Business Services team promotes and represents the interests of education services; professional services, including legal services, accounting, and management consulting; and other business services.
