The 2010 Americas Competitiveness Forum

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke and Mayor Kasim Reed co-hosted the fourth annual Americas Competitiveness Forum (ACF) on November 14-16, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. The ACF provides an opportunity for business-to-business and business-to-government discussions yielding practical actions that can improve competitiveness and economic prosperity in the Americas.

The theme of the 2010 ACF program was "Building a Prosperous and Sustainable Future for the Americas." Representatives from the hemisphere's public and private sector focused on innovation and green technologies, education and workforce development, entrepreneurship and small business development, and trade facilitation.

Secretary Locke was joined at the ACF by ministers of trade and economy from throughout the region as well as senior representatives from business, academia, and civil society. In addition to a dynamic agenda with thought-leaders representing the private sector, academia, and governments, the ACF also included export counseling sessions, market opportunity sessions where business can learn about new trade and investment opportunities, business to government meetings, and business to business matchmaking sessions.

The Dominican Republic will host the fifth annual ACF in Santo Domingo on October 5 - 7, 2011. Please check back for more information about this exciting event.
