Step-by-Step Application Process

Applications for MDCP awards willl be due in late February 2016. Exact dates will be included in the federal funding opportunity notice (FFO) to be published in early January 2016. Until that time, refer to the 2015 FFO. It, and the resources on this page, are good guides for preparing an application.

  1. Browse trade.gov/mdcp to learn more about MDCP funding and about MDCP projects.

  2. Contact Brad Hess to determine whether your project idea falls into the program parameters.

  3. Request a determination of eligibility.

  4. Identify Department of Commerce staff likely to be interested. These include Industry Specialists, Export Assistance Center specialists, and Foreign Commercial Service staff. Describe your project to Commerce staff

  5. Register on grants.gov (Do this right away. It can take two weeks from the time you register until it registers in grants.gov.)

  6. Use the "How To Submit" instructions as a guide in submitting your application in grants.gov.
