Dr. Hiroyuki Fujita is Founder, President and CEO of QED in Ohio. After attaining his physics Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and working in the industry, he founded QED, a global developer, manufacturer and supplier of state-of-the-art MRI radiofrequency antennas/coils. Dr. Fujita’s 20 year career history illustrates his exceptional technical and professional expertise in MRI technology development and productization. In recognition of growing a successful high-tech manufacturing company in the U.S., President Obama and First Lady Obama invited Dr. Fujita to be an honored guest in the First Lady’s Box at the 2012 State-of-the-Union Address. He received the 2013 Presidential Award for Export from the U.S. Department of Commerce and was named to the U.S. Manufacturing Council. In October 2013, Dr. Fujita published his autobiography “A Pathfinder” (Shogakukan) and he was named one of the 100 most influential people for Japan in Nikkei Business, January, 2014. In October 2014 he participated in a Healthcare and Energy Business Development Mission to Japan and South Korea with Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. Dr. Fujita serves on various boards including Board of Trustees of Hillcrest Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic hospital, The Musical Arts Association and The Cleveland Orchestra, The Cleveland Foundation, Local Leadership Council of Business Forward, and CWRU's Inamori International Center of Ethics and Excellence. Dr. Fujita is also an adjunct full professor of physics and radiology at CWRU and of electrical engineering at The University of Queensland.
