The LaMotte Company
The LaMotte Company, of Chestertown, Maryland, has been manufacturing water testing equipment since 1919 – making it one of the earliest, and one of the longest-standing, manufacturers of such equipment in America.
The company often uses U.S. Commercial Service programs such as the Gold Key Service to find new international distributors.
Richard LaMotte, Director of Sales, mentioned that he has been, "really pleased" with U.S. Commercial Service programs, as they have helped his company find new sales channels for some of their seasonal testing kits in places like Australia and South America. This increased business has helped retain American jobs by keeping the firm’s manufacturing lines busy throughout the year.
LaMotte’s Director of International Sales, Richard Rogers, describes the U.S. Commercial Service's Gold Key program as "very effective". The matchmaking program has helped his company expand sales in Vietnam, for example. Mr. Rogers stated that he was "quite impressed" with CS products and would "not hesitate to recommend CS programs to companies that need a trusted partner and pathfinder."
