New York Film Academy
U.S. Commercial Service helps New York Film Academy, "Make it Anywhere"
The New York Film Academy (NYFA) is a long-time client of the U.S. Commercial Service – New York City office. During the past 14 years, the NYFA has recorded more than 70 export success stories with the support of the U.S. Commercial Service.
Most recently, Carmela Mammas, Director of the U.S. Commercial Service office in New York City, worked together with the U.S. Commercial Service - Almaty, Kazakhstan, to organize a five-day, two-city single company promotional event which included matchmaking appointments with five major TV channels, local art academies, film industry professionals, as well as local workshops led by NYFA professors.
Through the efforts of the U.S. Commercial Service, the New York Film Academy has succeeded in developing and maintaining relationships with education partners, reached new markets for student mobility, and increased the number of international students studying at its U.S. campuses. The international student population at NYFA is more than 50%, representing over 115 countries. Hence, more than 55% of NYFA's faculty is directly educating international students. The President of NYFA estimates this has helped to create and maintain over 450 U.S. jobs.
NYFA has a full campus in Gold Coast, Australia and a year-round site for filmmaking and acting instruction in Florence, Italy, and annual summer programs in Paris, France and Beijing, China.
