Barriers to Healthcare Exports: Cultural, Logistical, and Administrative
You live in China with a medical condition that requires special treatment. You can afford to pay for the most up-to-date care in the United States. Will you actually come to the United States to be treated? It depends on how many obstacles stand in your way. image: USCIPP/NCHL
Interpreter? Travel? Visa? MDCP Project Makes it Easy for Patients in China to Choose U.S. Health
For a person in China who suffers from a medical condition that requires specialized treatment, the last thing you want to worry about is whether you will understand explanations of your treatment in a foreign language, English. And language is just the tip of the iceberg. Can someone help you arrange travel? Is a visa required? How do you get a visa? The list of concerns is long, but answers in Mandarin are available on the ChooseUSHealth site in Mandarin.
The United States offers so many top research hospitals and top-level care centers. Just finding the best fit can be time-consuming. Here's where ChooseUSHealth shines. The 70 members of the U.S. Cooperative for International Patient Programs (USCIPP) are all featured on one site. Dashboards and search functions on the site allow a patient to find the right fit.
USCIPP is a membership program of The National Center for Healthcare Leadership (NCHL). The ChooseUSHealth campaign is a core element in NCHL's Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP) project.
