Proj Type: The types of MDCP projects vary and most projects include more than one type of activity or theme. Each project's most significant or principal theme or type of activity is categorized as follows: A=market access including standards, conformity assessement and regulations; C=capacity-building of U.S. industry, e.g., export market & industry intelligence, company-specific export plans, financing, training; D=demonstration center, service facility, or training facility established in a target market; E=e-commerce; P=promotional activities including public relations, U.S. & international trade show participation, outbound & inbound trade missions; T=technical seminars and/or workforce development targeted to international entities to build demand for/ability to use U.S. goods/services; O=other
Sustain: All MDCP projects are supposed to be designed so that project activity and benefit to U.S. firms continues long after the MDCP funding is depleted. One way to gage post-MDCP award sustainability is to consider those projects that established a presence--a "foothold" or agent--in one or more target markets: f=foothold or a=agent established abroad; /c=closed by the cooperator less than one year post-MDCP; /s=sustained by the cooperator one year or more post-MDCP; /so=still operating; t=project terminated prior to end of project period
