Foothold Examples: Projects Continuing More Than One Year After End of Funding
MDCP applicants are evaluated, in part, on the likelihood that their project work will continue after the MDCP award funds are depleted. After the project period ends, ITA cannot require continued project reporting. Still, it is evident that many MDCP projects do endure for a year or more after the MDCP award funds are depleted and the project period ends. The post-MDCP-funding continuation of the projects noted below could be verified because these projects all involved establishing a "foothold", some sort of presence in a market outside the United States. As summarized here, most MDCP foothold projects continue for more than a year after the MDCP funding is depleted. In fact, most such footholds are still in operation today.
